BRIEF:
A mysterious object, cataloged as 'Artifact No. AE', was recently discovered at a digging site in Uganda's Great Rift Valley.
Archaeologists theorize it was a ritual object used in ancient times. However, civilians have labeled it an OOPA (Out-of-Place Artifact) due to its intricate complexity and tiny, well-crafted mechanisms. The true enigma of the artifact deepened after lab results revealed that two embedded stones, one green and one red, do not correspond to any known elements on the periodic table.
The object might have served as an ancient machine, possibly to measure something unknown, indicated by the numerous geometric drawings intricately carved into its sides. Given that some components of the artifact appear to be non-terrestrial, many believe it to be of extraterrestrial origin.
Whispers abound regarding why this singular object was left behind. Some speculate it was part of a larger structure, perhaps a crash site, or even an object forgotten in space that journeyed to Earth after countless years adrift.
Only one thing is certain: the object does not originate from this world.
But only the future will reveal the full story behind this discovery.
PROCESS:
My creative process began with a desire for a grounded, believable concept. As a keen history enthusiast, an ancient artifact immediately came to mind. I then began researching and gathering visual references, ensuring they complemented the mysterious narrative I aimed to create.
Then I proceeded to sketch the object I had in mind, focusing on Big, Medium, and Small shapes.
After that, I moved to Blender, where I created a simple blockout from sketch #5, as it best served the purpose of my brief.
To see the final details, I chose to do a quick paint over on Photoshop.
After adding the small details to the 3D model and texturing it, I moved to Unreal Engine. There, with the help of some Quixel Megascan meshes, I lit and composed the shot for my final image of the artifact.

The last step was on Photoshop, where I adjusted some minor details.
