Back to Human: Building a Curated Art Platform in an AI-Driven World

Almost 20 years ago, I created IT’S ART Magazine, now known as IAMAG, with one goal in mind: to support artists through meaningful content, connection, and community.

In the early days, I launched the CG Gallery, a space where artists could share their work freely, not filtered by algorithms or trending hacks, but highlighted through real, human appreciation.

Over time, it became harder to justify maintaining such a space. The community was evolving, and artists naturally migrated to faster-growing platforms, such as CGHub, DeviantArt, ArtStation, Instagram, and Twitter, which offered broader reach and momentum.

But as these platforms grew, something shifted. Algorithms took over. Engagement became a metric, not a connection. And more recently, the waters have been muddied further with the rise of AI-generated content, content scraping, and the uneasy blending of machine-made and human-made imagery, often with little transparency.

I didn’t react immediately as concerns started to rise. I didn’t jump to launch yet another platform to follow the noise. Instead, I paused. I observed. And I asked myself: What is still missing for artists? What do you think still matters?

The answer brought me back to the roots of what I once built: a human-centered, artist-first space. A place curated not by algorithms but by care. Moderated by people and focused on the quality of what’s shared, not the quantity of clicks.

That’s why I created this new space, IAMAG Community

A platform free of ads. Free of AI-generated content. Protected against scraping and built for digital and traditional artists who want to share their work with intention and authenticity.

This may sound out of place in 2025. A bit slow. Maybe even idealistic. But I believe that’s precisely what gives it value.

I’m not building this to scale endlessly. I’m not chasing numbers. I’m creating a space that grows intentionally, not exponentially.

Because I believe art deserves more than just visibility—it deserves meaning.

If you’ve been feeling disconnected from the platforms you once loved or want to be part of a space where human creativity still reigns, I’d love to invite you to join. Explore. Share. Or just be present.

And if you have thoughts or feedback, I’m listening. Always. The door is also open to anyone who wants to help shape this journey, whether through collaboration, moderation, or contributing to the development of new sections of the platform.
