At the entrance to the Old Forest stands a tree set apart from the rest of the woods, adorned with colorful ribbons, medallions, and flowers. From its main trunk emerges a carved figure of a bearded old man leaning on a staff, and at his feet, entwined in thick, ancient roots, lies a stone bowl filled with coins.
Everyone who enters the forest tosses a coin into it as an offering, asking for a safe passage, while others hang ribbons to show their hope for the return of those who have left, and remembrance of those who never came back.
